50 years ago an experimental and daring show premiered called Sesame Street. It was unlike anything the world had seen and has changed the world in profound ways.
This past week we celebrated this anniversary at Sesame’s 50th Anniversary Gala—and, wow, what a Gala it was! (OMG…Michelle Obama was magic.) I am beyond fortunate to have had been a part of this legacy during my more than a decade with the Muppets and Sesame Street. It’s a family of friends (some human, some not so much) that I cherish with all my heart.
It was extra special to celebrate the evening with my extraordinary friend Cheryl Henson and the Henson family. I’m still floating.
HAPPY 50, SESAME STREET!
Astounding. I've seen lots of theater in my decades in NYC, and I used to work in theater as well, including Broadway. But I've never had an experience (or two, considering it's two plays) like this! It certainly helps that I'm already invested in these characters and the wizarding world of Harry Potter, but HOLY MOLY! The story, staging, design, acting, music . . . all epic and inspirational. There is nothing like live theater, nothing.
And I shall #KeepTheSecrets 😌
